Former EBU welter champ Jackson Osei Bonsu returns November 11 in Antwerp, Belgium, with a ten-rounder against Domingos Monteiro Nascimento, who fights out of Luxembourg. “Sugar” Jackson was stopped by Selcuk Aydin in June in Turkey in a WBC eliminator and EBU title fight.
 
Bulgarian heavy Kubrat Pulev, for years among the best amateurs in the world at heavy and superheavy, turns pro on the Sylvester vs Lorenzo show September 19 in Neubrandenburg. Pulev have been a permanent guest at the Sauerland traing camps since 2004 and matchmaker Hagen Doering is confident that the 28-year old can be moved quickly towards the top.
 
Finnish-Swedish heavy Robert Helenius became a father for the second time yesterday (Sep 15) and his bout against Rene Dettweiler set for the show in Neubrandenburg is postponed.
 
WBO jr middle champ Sergey Dzinziruk and former WBA bantam king Wladimir Sidorenko are involved with a promotional dispute with Universum. Dzinziruk claims breach of contract while Universum commenting to news agency dpa says that it was not due any mistakes on their side that the planned defences fell through. In regards of Sidorenko he is apparently of the belief he is - according to media in Ukraine – free to go. No longer a champion he feels his break from Universum will go smoother than Dzinziruk´s. Both men are looking to continue their respective careers in the US.
 
Former EBU champ and WBA challenger Michel Trabant, 44-4-1 and 1-3-1 in the last four, will give it another go and make a comeback October 4 in Berlin. Trabant have been with both Universum and Sauerland but is now with a smaller promoter.  Still only 31, Michel have been a pro since 95.
 
French veteran Mamadou Thiam will take on local man Florian Wildenhof for the GBC middleweight title September 19 in Burghausen on a show sanctioned by the GBO. Wildenhof´s record is a claimed 10-0 while the faded Thiam is 43-8..
