June 11, Hamburg, Germany:
EC Box Promotion staged another “Evil Fight Night” and cruiser Aleksander Alexeev showed he´s back in full force stopping German-based Cuban Damian Norris in the second to win the WBO Asia-Pacific belt. Alexeev hurt Norris early in the first and the Cuban´s legs looked gone from there on and he never recovered.
Raul Bejaran won the WBO European middleweight title with a tko in the eighth over Gokan Oezekler. Oezekler was strong in the early rounds but too green and the slicker, more experienced Bejaran took over. The eighth was quiet until Oezekler all of a sudden faded and was knocked out by a right to head. Two judges had Gokan ahead on points after seven while the third had it for Bejaran.
Kai Kurzawa won the Int´l German cruiser title with a tko win in the third over Armin Dollinger, who soaked up a bad beating before the towel came in. Kurzawa was stopped by Dollinger the first time they fought but no-one, not even Kai, can explain how that could happen as the gap in class was evident from the start.
Croatian Ante Bilic returned and won a hardfought majority decision after eight action-packed rounds of boxing against Michael Shubow. Both had their moments and each round was close and difficult to scor.
Swedish amateur star Klara Svensson turned pro with a unanimous decison over Romanian Andrea Rotaru, who also made her debut on this show. Svensson dominated and won on scores of 40-36 from the three judges.
