April 9, Schwerin, Germany:

Heavyweight Juan Carlos Gomez, in much better shape than last time out but still far from peak condition, floored big German Alexander Kahl four times en route to an eight round unanimous decision in the headliner of Arena Box Promotions´ s show at the Neue Arena. Kahl was down in the second, sixth and eighth (twice) and lost on scores of 80-69 twice and 80-68. Alexander “der Grosse” was not so great as he more or less gave up fighting after the first two and was content with surviving. Gomez had the timing and sharpness to do more but needed to pace himself and this allowed Kahl to last the distance.

Konstantin Airich took out capable but fragile Russian heavy  Alex Varakin with a right hook to the temple already after 1.43 of a scheduled eight-rounder.

Lightheavy prospect Robert “the Butcher” Woge knocked out  Armen Azizian at 0.50 of the third. Woge, 2-0, is very un-German in his straight-in-take-their-head-off style but have lots to learn in regards of timing and boxing.

Czech heavy Ondrey Pala stopped giant (150 kg) Ukrainian Sergey Babich at 1-40 of the fifth. Babich was at least 30 kilo overweight and looked very rusty.  Pala had too much of everything for him and Sergey soaked up a bad beating until it was stopped.

Alex Mazikin vs Edgars Kalnars was cancelled on day of the fight with no official reason given.
