Contrary to what has been reported Dereck Chisora will not fight Denis Boytsov for the vacant EBU heavyweight title. Instead Chisora will take on Boytsov´s stablemate at Sauerland Event, Edmund Gerber. The fight will go ahead September 27.For Gerber, fresh off a number of poor performances with close, dubious wins this is his big chance but it must be said that Chisora begins as an overwhelming favourite.As Boytsov, the plans for him are not known at this stage but he has stated he has no interest in the EBU title.
Update: although the official announcement from the EBU reads Sep 27 both Frank Warren Promotions have announced Chisora vs Gerber as on for Sep 21.
