Finnish promotional outfit P 3 Boxing, headed by Pekka Maeki, won purse bids today in Rome for EBU jr welter champ Denis Shafikov´s mandatory defence against Italian challenger Brunet Zamora.
P 3 Boxing bid 111 111 EUR while Boxe Loreni came in second best with a bid for 82 500 EUR.
Exact date and site will be announced but it seems certain that Shafikov, “Djingis Khan”, vs Zamora will go ahead in Russia or Finland inside 60 days.
Shafikov and Zamora fought to a draw in October 2010 with the WBA I/C title at stake – but most observers felt Shafikov had nicked it.
