As Russian jr welter Denis Shafikov have relinquished the EBU title it will now be contested between Italian Michele Di Rocco, 34-1-1, and Brit Lenny Daws, 25-2-2.
The EBU have set January 11 at noon as deadline for pursebids.
For Daws it means he´s automatically stripped of the EU title he won against Ville Piispanen earlier this year.
Both men have been around for some time now and Di Rocco was an Olympian in 2000 but until 2004 before turning pro and while his record looks great he lost the most important fight of his career against compatriot Giuseppe Lauri in 2007. He got revenge earlier this year though. As for Daws he´s won and lost the British title twice now.
