25.10 Euro News

Former WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik is now according to Hamburger Abendblatt taking legal action against Universum to get the purse from the fight against Felix Sturm April 13. Sturm Box Promotion paid a total of 250 000 EUR for Zbik´s services and Waldemar Kluch, who heads Universum, admitted to German media that Zbik hadn´t been paid and that his purse had spent on paying other debts.

Zbik got a first payment of 5000 EUR from Universum October 12 and when Sebastian asked when the rest would come he says he only got more excuses and have thus taken legal action.

Zbik´s move is risky as it could lead to bankrupcy for Universum – and how much money he will get then is an open question.

Universum and Kluch is also involved in a litigation with former owner Klaus Peter Kohl.

EBU flyweight champion Silvio Olteanu retained the title this past weekend with a very close, split 12-round decision over Italian veteran Andrea Sarritzu.

Next up could be a third fight against Valery Yanchy, who is the newly appointed mandatory challenger.

Olteanu, 14-6-1, and Yanchy, around 19-3-1, have previously fought twice – both very close fights ending in a majority decison draw and a split decision for Olteanu.

Both men are fighting out of Spain.
