EBU have announced that the parties involved, EC Box Promotion and Universum, have reached an agreement for the rematch between EBU cruiser champ Alexander Alexeev and former WBA ruler Firat Arslan.
The fight will take place in November with site to be announced. The two fought a heated draw in the spring and the EBU ordered a rematch.
Meanwhile, Hamburger Abendblatt, brings a disturbing story regarding Universum and middleweight Sebastian Zbik. Zbik fought WBA superchamp Felix Sturm, lost and got a 250 000 EUR payday for his efforts. Sturm have paid Universum but Zbik still haven´t received his money and have now taken legal action.
Universum boss Waldemar Kluch confirms having been paid by Sturm but had other fighters to pay as well and tells the Abendblatt all debts will be settled eventually but not right now. A big part of the problem is a financial dispute with Universum´s former main owners, Klaus Peter Kohl and Dietmar Poszwa, over tje take over of Universum.
With no TV deal in sight Universum face a difficult future even if the company still is strong boxingwise.
