IBF middleweight champ Sebastian Sylvester will defend the title against Australian Daniel Geale May 7 in his “livingroom” at the Jahnsportforum in Neubrandenburg. Geale is the mandatory challenger for Sylvester. Contracts were signed on Saturday after the parties had come to agreement without pursebids.
Sylvester was forced to withdraw from a planned defence January 30 at the same venue against Mehdi Bouadla due to illness.
May 7 is also the date for Sauerland´s show in Copenhagen with the Battle of the Legends, the Brian Nielsen vs Evander Holyfield fight.
