Former WBC jr light champ Vitali Tajbert withdrew today from the position as mandatory position for EBU king Ermanno Fegatilli from Belgium. There was to have been purse bids today in Rome for this matchup that now is off with Tajbert hand injured and gunning for another world title shot later in the year.
The new mandatory challenger for Fegatilli is Italian Devis Boschiero. The EBU have set April 17 as deadline for pursebids or agreement.
Boschiero, 27-1-1, lost his last fight, a shot at WBC ruler Takahiro Ao but beat Fegatilli, 25-4, back in 2006 in a IBF Youth title fight.
