It´s official: After a long time of rumors and contemplation former EBU middle champ Amin Asikainen have announced he will continue his career but at supermiddle. Asikainen returns May 11 at home in Kirkkonummi with a six-rounder against Bolivan Ricky Torrez. Norwegian superbantam Andreas Evensen, reigning WBO I/C champ, is also on the bill along with “Djungis Khan”, Russian jr welter Dennis Shafikov.
Swedish welter Patrick Bogere have on short notice accepted to fight former British champ Young Mutley in Nottingham on Friday (April 23). On paper Bogere, 5-0, should be too inexperienced for Mutley, 28-5, but the ex-champ´s form have been a bit questionable of lately so don´t rule out an upset. Bogere represented Sweden in the 04 Olympics but then had a break for almost four years before turning pro.
