French bantam Jerome Arnould is according to some sources the opponent for WBO champ Fernando Montiel September 12 in Mexico. Arnould is indeed in training but for a fight in Paris September 10 both he and his promoter, Michel Acaries, denies having heard anything about a world title fight.
 
It´s official: Jurgen Brahmer and Aleksy Kuziemski, stablemates in Universum, clash for the WBO interim lightheavyweight title August 22 in Budapest. Reigning champ Zsolt Erdei is very much available for a fight but according to Universum there´s a conflict of TV dates that force them to leave Erdei out. The winner of Brahmer vs Kuziemski, very much likely to be Jurgen, is then on for a fight with Erdei later this year. Brahmer have also been in training for a possible showdown with WBA ruler Gabriel Campillo but that fell through as the Spaniard opted for a defence in Kazachstan against Beibut Shumenov.
 
Pugnus´s memorial show for the late Ingemar Johansson September 4 in Karlstad will be headlined by Florida-based heavyweight Timur Ibragimov, who face former IBF cruiser champ Al Cole over six two-minute rounds (in accordance with the Swedish rules). Already announced is another heavyweight clash over 6×2 between Attila Levin against Ivica Perkovic. There could be another US “name” heavyweight added to the bill. “Minnesota Ice”, Joey Abell is out due to an injury. The undercard feature some of the best prospects in Sweden right now such featherweight Richard Lundby, supermiddle Badou Jack and welter Patrick Bogere.
