WBA regular heavyweight champ Alexander Povetkin was far from his best against Marco Huck earlier this year. He was in fact out of shape but the only explanation offered was that he had underestimated his opponent. I sent his manager, Vlad Hrunov, a mail to see how it is going now and mr Hrunov came back with the info that all time great Kostya Tszyu is training Povetkin.
It appears however that Alexander Zimin is still the head coach but is currently sidelined due to illness.
Povetkin have on paper an easy defence against faded ex-champ Hasim Rahman July 14 in London but if he don´t show up in better shape than he did against Huck any fight will be dangerous.
