Universum have added another internal eliminator to their show October 10 in Rostock. This time it´s heavies Sebastian Koeber and Markus Tomala that will clash for the interim German title. WBA I/C heavy champ Dennis Boytsov was all set to take on fellow Russian Dennis Bahktov but Bahktov have pulled out so who Boytsov will fight isn´t clear yet. The show is headlined by WIBF and WBC feather ruler Ina Menzer and she defends the titles against Esther Schouten.
WBA lightheavy champ Gabriel Campillo could reportedly be heading for Las Vegas in January and a rematch against Beilut Shumenov. Campillo won a close decision in the first fight and it´s claimed he still haven´t been paid after a big conflict started over the dopingtest after the fight.
Russian jr welter Dennis Shafikov, promoted by Finland´s P 3 boxing, is off the undercard to Asikainen vs Macklin September 25 in Manchester for a fight in St Petersburg the same night. Shafikov, 20-0, will also headline P 3 Boxing´s show in Helsinki October 24, possibly in a fight for a title.
WBA supermiddle champ Mikkel Kessler drew enourmous numbers of viewers for his defence against Gusmyl Perdomo Saturday night and I believe the ratings in the part of Sweden where TV 2 can be seen were pretty impressive too. At the same TV 2 is due to financial reasons not a partner in the upcoming Super Six Tournament and Kessler´s fights will be televised PPV in Denmark (and perhaps Scandinavia) by Viasat.
Hungarian promoter, manager, agent and still active heavyweight boxer Zoltan Petranyi had a busy weekend: Friday afternoon he knocked out Zoltan Peto on a small gym show in Budapest, then he headed to Galanta, Slovakia, to work the corner of lightheavy Tamas Kovac. Saturday morning he was off to Herning, Denmark, with some fighters for the undercard of Kessler vs Perdomo.
Polish Babilon Promotion could have jr middles Daniel Urbanski and Karlo Tabaghua clash again in November. Urbanski won their first fight in August on a close call that left Tabaghua and his people very unhappy.
Paolo Vidoz vs Albert Sosnowski for the vacant EBU heavyweight title could go ahead November 13 or 20 in Brentwood, UK, with Matchroom promoting.
