IBF welter champ Jan Zaveck fights ex-WBC titlist Andre Berto September 3 in Biloxi, MS. Zaveck is currently in Magdeburg training under Dirk Dzemski. Among the sparring partners is no other than Rafael Jackiewicz, with whom Zaveck split two hard fought battles in 2008 and 2010. When Jackiewicz leaves highly ranked Selcuk Aydin comes to town for more quality sparring and when Zaveck flies to the US later this month capable Colombian Joel Julio will be there waiting. Stablemate Sergey Vartanov is also among the sparring partners.
-This is the toughest training camp I´ve ever had, states Zaveck, who however is confident this will help him beat Berto.
