While there appears to be little actual fighting taking place inside the ring there seems to be a full scale feud outside of the ropes in what until recently was known as the Malta Boxing Commission, MBC, and was a provisional member of the European Boxing Union, EBU.
If you check the EBU website today you will be informed that the MBC has been suspended by the the Board of Directors until the General Assembly 2013.
Meanwhile one fraction of the MBC announced last week that former WBO supermiddle champ Steve Collins had been appointed as President with PR man Gianluca Di Caro stepping down from his position as interim President..
It didn´t take long for another fraction to announce that the President was still Alexander Zammitt, who also was one of the founders of the MBC along with Di Caro. This fraction of the MBC are now collaborating with the German Boxing Association, a non-EBU member.
It´s just been announced that “Terrible Tim Witherspoon have joined the Steve Collins part of the Malta Boxing Commission as vice President.
