Sep 10, Malmoe, Sweden:
The show was billed as “History” and marked the first probox event in Malmoe, Sweden, since 1967 but was hit with so much troubles beforehand one expected the worst come fight time.
However, supermiddle prospect, Badou Jack, a late addition to the bill, impressed in the mainevent in stopping Belorus Aliaksandr Paluyanau in the third with solid body punches. Paluyanau was down in both the second and third before it was stopped.
Female welter Mikaela Lauren won on scores of 60-54 on all cards over Bulgarian spoiler Borislava Goranova.
Donatella Hultin outscored inept debutant Ana Boras over four two minute rounds, jr lightweights. Hultin is trained by former WBO 160 lb ruler Armand Krajnc.
Finally, local lightweight Teuta Cuni turned pro with a four round unanimous decision over Arlene De Freitas.
Note that the special ten ounce amateur gloves are worn in all weight divsions in Sweden and that makes a big difference in the lighter weight divisions especially in female fights.
Other news: if Attila Levin ever was on the show in Karlstad September 24 is not known but now he is off and heavyweight Andreas Gustavsson will now take on American John Poore from Upper Darby, PA.
