Madrid-based Romanian Silvio Olteanu won the vacant EBU flyweight title last night in La Coruna with a split decision win after twelve rounds of boxing against Valery Yanchy, who hails from Belorus but resides in La Coruna. It was scored 115-113 for Yanchy and 114-113 and 116-114 for Olteanu.These drew in a fight for the same title, left vacant by Italian Andrea Sarritzu, last year and it was very close this time as well but Olteanu sealed a very narrow win with a strong last round.Reports from Spain indicate that most of the crowd of 2000 at the Palacio de los Deportes de Riazor disagreed with the verdict.
