Czech jr middle Lukas Konecny, 47-3-0, square off against Frenchman Salim Larbi, 17-1-1, for the WBO Interim jr middle title April 5 at the Vodova Arena in Brno, Czech Republic with SES promoting.
Konecny was all set to fight champ Zaurbek Baysangurov in Ukraine March 10 when Baysangurov early last week had to pull out from the scheduled fight with an injured back.
Prior to that, Konecny spent some time waiting for then champ Sergey Dzinziruk – as did Baysangurov, who first won the interim title before begin declared full champ.
Lukas must be regarded as strong favourite to beat the somewhat untested Larbi.
