IBF welter champ Jan Zaveck defends the title against mandatory challenger Rafael Jackiewicz September 4 at the 14 000-seater Sportpark Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Jackiewicz beat Zaveck on a close and controversial decision in November of 08 in Poland with the EBU title at stake. Zaveck have wanted a rematch ever since and here it is.
Nathan Cleverly and Karo Murat clash on Frank Warren´s huge Magnificent Seven show September 18 in Birmingham. It´s been billed as a fight for the WBO interim lightheavy title. However, champ Juergen Braehmer is still around and active and for now the fight is an eliminator.
Russian promoter German Titov have informed the EBU that he will stage the fight for the vacant EBU heavyweight title between Dennis Bakhtov and Aleksander Dimitrov July 30 in Ekaterinburg.The EBU have previously set July 31 as deadline for the fight to happen. However, if Titov, who won purse bids for the figth June 21, actually can get it on at that date is an open question.
Gennadyi Golovkin vs Milton Nunez for the WBA “standard” middleweight title is - not surprisingly - postponed again and will now go ahead August 7 in Lagos de Moreno (near Guadalajara). Golvokin is now trained by Abel Sanchez.

On the undercard EBU feather king Oleg Yefimovych takes on Sofiane Takoucht and supermiddles Server Emurmaylev and Blas Miguel Martines clash for the vacant EBA title and there´s more to be announced.
The Universum vs Felix Sturm case ended in an out of court settlement. Sturm is now free to go ahead with his career but the question on who won still lingers as the WBA superhcamp according to Bild Zeitung bought his way out of the contract for 950 000 EUR. Sturm´s former stablemate Khoren Gevor did win his courcase against Universum but later – before an appeal was made – re-inked with Universum.
