WBA interim champ at welter Ismael El Massoudi, a forgotten man after a year out since winning his version of the title by stopping Souleyman M´Baye, will defend the title July 21 in Buenos Aires against Diego Gabriel Chaves, writes French paper l´Equipe.
The 34-year old El Massoudi, 37-3, was trading on even terms with the favored M´Baye going into the last round when Souleyman twisted his knee and went down for the count. A lucky winner one might say but also finally a break for a fine pro, who´s plugged away for eleven years now
As for M´Baye, he also on the way back and should make a comeback this fall.
