Newly crowned EU welter champ, Polish veteran Rafael Jackiewicz will defend the title against another oldtimer, Italian Gianluca Branco. The planned date is June 30 at a site to be announced in Poland.
The EBU have thus suspended the purse bids for Jackiewicz vs his mandatory challenger Karlo Tabaghua but a deal for a fight between these two is reportedly in place.
Tabaghua will fight on a tuneup June 29 in Halle an der Saale in Germany and if all goes well he will the be moved towards an IBF I/C title fight September 21 in Belgium against an opponent to be announced – this is a deal that isn´t done yet but if all goes well here Karlo will then challenge the winner of Jackiewicz vs Branco.
