04.09 Karlstad report

September 4, Karlstad, Sweden:
Pugnus Promotion staged Ingo the Champ, the Memorial show in honor of the late Ingemar Johansson tonight at the Lofberg Lila Arena. All fights were fought under the special rules that applies for professional boxing in Sweden, max distance 12 minutes, 10 ounce gloves worn in all fights.
In the mainevent heavyweight Timur Ibragimov outscored faded former IBF cruiser champ Al Cole over six two-minute rounds. It was scored 60-55, 59-56 and 59-55. Ibragimov impressed in short spells but was dragged into a mauler by Cole, the much slower man.
In the co-headliner Florida-based Swede Attila “the Hun” returned and stopped outclassed Bosnian Adnan Buharalija in the fourth of another six twos. Buharalilja was down twice in the second, once in the third and again in the fourth.
In a big upset Chilean Julio Vargas, 4-16-2, outscored Norwegiean superbantam Reidar Walstad, 19-3-2, over four. Vargas hurt and floored Walstad in the first and while Reidar came back later in the fight it wasn´t enough and he lost on scores of 38-37 twice while the third judge had it even at 38-38.
Female welter Anna Ingman won something called the WPBF title with a six-round unanimous decision over Mariem Brakeche.
Supermiddle prospect Badou Jack took apart Vadim Chromich with bodyshots, floored him three times and it was stopped at 2.15 of the third.
Welter Patrick Bogere outscored Konstantin Sakara over four mixing flashy moves with some sloppier.
