German tabloid Bild writes that next up for WBA super middleweight champ Felix Sturm is a defence against dangerous Brit Matthew Macklin. Bild writes that the fight will go ahead at Lanxess Arena in Cologne on either June 25 or July 2 with Sat 1 as network partner.
This explains Machklin´s withdrawal from the WBA eliminator April 16 against Khoren Gevor who now moves up to supermiddle and challenge WBO champ Robert Stieglitz April 9 in Magdeburg.
The WBA will now finally it seems force WBA standard middle champ Gennadyi Golovkin to face the WBA interim middleweight king Hassan N´Dam although there are still many ifs to be sorted out before this happen. The winner of Sturm vs Macklin could then face the winner of Golovkin and N´Dam and the mess would have been sorted out.
